Ouch! Now I understand why Java is a 2nd rate citizen on Mac OS X....

I think (or maybe I just want to think!) that Jobs was talking about Java as a browser plugin, not Java itself. With the full install of OS X (which, by all reports, is the case minus the Finder), having Java really has only an upside for Apple. It might not be there immediately while they test the first one, rush through FCC approval, etc. but I bet anything it is there within the first year.

Steve's a funny guy. Java is the most installed os on any cellphone, blackberry's, Nokia's, Motorola's, Samsung's even Windows Smartphones all come pre-installed with Java. http://java.com/en/about/

Does it really matter for servoy web client as long as the browser is javascript and css capable? The no Java rule might have something to do with Apple not allowing any 3rd party apps on the phone.
