[Showcase] Bob Cusick's ReportWriter module

  • Showcase

[image unavailable: Reportwriter1_1] How many of you are using Bob Cusick's "ReportWriter" module? A few of you?

For those of you who don't know about it: imagine a solution that allows users to create and configure an entire report—including how it looks, what data is displayed and how data is organized. Additionally, imagine a user being able to save their report as a PDF, excel or HTML file in addition to printing it or viewing in print preview mode.

But I speak Azerbaijani...

It is entirely implemented with i18n labels.

Sounds complicated Dave...

Who cares, you don't have to write it all over again yourself. Someone with no-rust no-wear titanium gears in his head wrote it for you.

I don't get it...

The ReportWriter module is a solution that you can include in YOUR solutions for FREE. With very little configuration you can give your users the ability to create simple to complex reports on their own data. It is also open source, so you can tinker with it as much as you want.

Oh cool, that would save me lots and LOTS of time creating reports. Where can I get this!

The latest version (version 0.9 build 34) is here:

David - thanks for your kind words! I'm working on getting that solution finished up (v36 is in the works) - and I've added loads of features, fixed (fixing!) the subsummary parts to make them more powerful and easy to use. I welcome ALL bug reports, suggestions, etc. You can email me directly. Please read the READ ME file in the download - it has all the release notes, installation instructions, etc. Thanks again, David for such a great site! Bob Cusick Servoy
