Good luck slogging your way through this one. Nearly two hours of coding in the trenches—and it's not always pretty. In fact, it is downright ugly at some stages....

For those who persevere, the reward is seeing several powerful and fairly complicated Servoy features being implemented that don't have a whole lot of documentation or examples in the public space.

My task is to file stream a directory of files from the server, parse their contents for specific meta data, and create records based on this meta data.

I live the entire time in the Servoy method editor and debugger and cover the following topics:

file streaming with callbacks and monitors
file management and error checking
regexp for file processing and pulling out values
managing persistence with form variables
passing control between multiple threads
object creation and processing
foundset processing three levels deep
