[Video] Row background

I remember when I first copied and pasted my first row background color calculation. It was pretty cool to suddenly transform a list/table into something that looked good in addition to worked well. Well, times have come a long way since the beginning, but at it’s core row/column coloring remains much the same.

In this 10 minute screencast, I give an overview of the simplest form of row backgrounding, using only the first two arguments (index and selected). This is followed by a more advanced example (about 3:40 into the cast) of how row backgrounding can be hijacked to add a little flare to forms that show multiple lists.

There really is a lot more that can be done with row backgrounding including coloring columns that are empty/edited/created in the last month/you name it.

One final note, this great feature has been beefed up even more with the forthcoming Servoy 6. But now it's called the onRender event.
